VICTORIA - The votes have been tallied and now it's time to unveil the winners of the "Picture My Parks" B.C. Photo Contest, Environment Minister Barry Penner announced today.

"I would like to thank everyone who participated in the photo contest," said Penner. "The winning photographs truly capture the diversity and beauty of British Columbia's parks. But just as importantly, they show people getting out and discovering more of B.C.'s provincial parks."

BC Parks partnered with the B.C. chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS-BC) to create a photo contest aimed at showing people enjoying and participating in recreational activities in B.C.'s provincial parks. Entries were reviewed by a panel of CPAWS-BC and BC Parks staff and narrowed down to the best photos in each of four categories. Then the public was invited to choose an overall winner and category winners by voting online at www.bcparks.ca for their favourite photos.
