The inquest into the death of Robert Dziekanski has been scheduled. Mr. Dziekanski died while in the custody of the Richmond RCMP, at Vancouver International Airport, in the early hours of Oct. 14, 2007.

The inquest is scheduled for May 5-16, 2008. Presiding coroner Owen Court and a five-person jury will publicly hear evidence from subpoenaed witnesses in order to determine the facts surrounding the death. The jury will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances in the future.
