Join Chris Bywater from Industry Canada on Wednesday, October 17 for this full day workshop designed to help businesses make the web work for them. What are the benefits of doing business online? This workshop will answer this and many more questions regarding the use of online tools. The morning session highlights doing business online followed by a networking lunch and an (optional) hands-on session where participants will have the opportunity to explore what they have learned earlier in the day.
Chris Bywater has spent the last 19 years working in the areas of industry, community and labour force development for a variety of agencies ranging from Industry Canada to the Greater Masset Development Coorporation to a tribal casino in Louisiana. Chris has long been involved in projects to increase community utilization of information technology. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from SFU and a Masters of Public Administration from Carleton University.
Chris's presentation will provide an overview of e-business for small to medium sized companies and will include information on: different types of on-line business (from virtual worlds to shopping carts); elements of good web design; safety/security considertations; cost considertations; search engines and your web site; customer satisfaction; and, marketing. Registration for this event is $30 for participants and includes lunch and refreshments. Participants will be registered for the Prince Rupert Chamber Luncheon scheduled for October 17th. The workshop will begin at 9am at the Crest Hotel.
