REPORTING · 5th July 2007
Cynthia Davies
Many of us here in Terrace will recognize this familiar face from around town and at the Coast Hotel. Diane Axworthy passed away suddenly on June 25 while visiting family.

Diane came to the Northwest, with her family at the young age of 15 from Campbellton NB. Diane later raised her 6 children in Prince Rupert and met her husband Brian in 1976.

Nine years ago Brian secured a career at the Government liquor store as the manager and so they moved to Terrace together. Brian predeased Diane about 3 years ago. Together they loved to fish with friends and family at their secret fishing grounds just West of Terrace.

Diane was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Royal Purple, the Lioness Club, the Bowling League and was a member of the Local 40 Hotel/Bartenders Union contributing to the content of the collective agreement that remains today.

From her 6 children Diane is survived by a further 9 grandchildren.

Celebration of Life Services will be held between 1:00pm and 4:00pm at the Coast Hotel Banquet room on Saturday July 7th. The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
