KAMLOOPS - The Coroner's inquest into the death of Ryan Mathew Bauer has been scheduled. On July 11, 2006, staff of a Kamloops hotel called police and reported that Mr. Bauer was in an agitated state. Kamloops RCMP attended and transported Mr. Bauer to the Royal Inland Hospital. Despite medical treatment, he died later that day.

The inquest is scheduled for August 22-24, 2007. Presiding coroner Tonia Grace and a five-person jury will publicly hear evidence from subpoenaed witnesses in order to determine the facts surrounding the death. The jury will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances in the future.
