NEWS RELEASE · 7th November 2011
City of PR
The City of Prince Rupert and a Partnership comprising of Lax Kwa'alaam Band and Metlakatla Development Corporation are pleased to announce that an Exclusivity Agreement has been signed by the two entities.

The Exclusivity Agreement gives to the Partnership, for a specific period of time, the exclusive right to perform due diligence and to negotiate the terms of the sale of the properties known as the Watson Island Properties.

In exchange for granting this exclusive right, the City will receive monthly payments from the Partnership to compensate the City for the costs of maintaining the property. The Partnership has also recently executed an agreement with Colonial Coal to investigate the potential acquisition of Watson Island.

The City of Prince Rupert became the owner of the Watson Island Properties through the Municipal Property Tax Sales Process.

The agreement was signed by Harold Leighton of the Metlakatla Development Corporation and Mayor Jack Mussallem.

Now that you all own it, isn't there anything else you can figure out what to do with it.....besides resell it for a laughable profit. Now, I know where band councils learned how to fancy themselves glorified real estate salespeople. The least you could all do is complete grade twelve, then go to university to learn that Canadian Indians aren't going anywhere without the blessings of BOTH the English and the French. And, all you non-Tsimshian "business people" need to know that Her Majesty has her hairy eyeball on us all. You think I jest? It's hot in this kitchen, proceed at your own peril. Take a Canadian, accredited real estate course after all that. Then start trying to sell Tsimshian Territory.

But, hey! That is only my own humble opinion, which everybody has.
