Lax Kw'alaams
Reminder to all members to call the Lax Kw'alaams Band for a mail in ballot for the upcoming election of Mayor & Council. The only poll station will be in Prince Rupert & Lax Kw'alaams on November 22nd.
Anyone else who lives beyond Prince Rupert will have to call before November 13th to have a mail in ballot sent to them. They will not be sending ballots out to the whole voting membership.

I call your village Port Simpson because that is what Mom always called it. She told me how her and her Na'ah would travel there from Port Essington in about 1930. Port Simpson is also easy for me to spell.
There is a lot of excitement over here about all the municipal elections going on in Tsimshian Territory. Prince Rupert and Terrace results will be easy to find. Tsimshian all up and down the coast are really interested in the results from Port Simpson. They will affect us all. What time , and where may we view the results first?

Mayor? Where was I?
I am from Kitsumkalum, and will run for chief councillor during our next election. Earlier this year, there was a conflict between our two bands regarding a tresspass by a B.C. Hydro work crew, from Kitsumkalum. I was appalled that Indian politics had brought my people to this sort of public embarrassment.
That is just one reason I am politically engaged.
My questions for candidates are:
- how did this conflict come to be?
- how was it resolved?
- what is your position on the treaty process?
- are we together, or what?
- we still love you...
