So many bad things happen in this world and I just wanted to let Prince Rupert, Canada, know that they have someone wonderful living in their midst.
My youngest daughter and her husband were traveling from Ketchikan, Alaska, to home here in Oregon. They were just transferred with the Coast Guard and neither one of them are seasoned travelers.
They knew they would be traveling with their two golden retrievers for several days and they did not want to carry a lot of cash with them. They thought their debit cards would do the trick for gas and whatever else they needed.
Unfortunately, when passing through Canada, their accounts were frozen by their credit union and they could not access the funds at all. They were in a unfamiliar place, out of gas, and my daughter was almost hysterical with worry.
When she went into the store to try to get some cash with a purchase, she found she couldn't do that either. That is when the angel appeared and her name was Helen.
Helen handed my daughter $50 which was appreciated more than we can ever, ever say. Helen would only give Brianna her first name but we will be forever grateful for the helping hand that was offered to my youngest child and her husband in Prince Rupert today, Saturday, August 13th.
We cannot pay Helen back but we will make sure that we offer the same kind heart to someone else in need the next time the opportunity presents itself.
I hope everyone who reads this story will let it touch their soul. The next person in need may be one of your loved ones and I hope they will also find a Helen of Prince Rupert, Canada.
