The Prince Rupert Port Edward Economic Development Corporation (PREDC) is currently welcoming project proposals in search of funding assistance. The submission deadline for proposals is August 12th 2011. However, all granters have different closing dates for applications; so earlier proposal submission will mean more funding opportunities are readily accessible. This service provided by the PREDC is meant to offer well-developed projects and organizations currently without adequate funding support an opportunity for assistance in applying for grants.
Please note the following:
Types of Projects – proposed projects/programs must relate to economic development or community enhancement and/or must address an identified need or demand in Prince Rupert. Eligible activities to be considered are extremely broad and flexible. They can range from: business start-up and expansion, arts programs or initiatives, heritage conservation, service provision, building revitalization or rehabilitation, (pre-) feasibility studies, environmental assessments, cost viability analyses, capacity building, professional development or consultation, the incorporation of an organization, and more.
Eligibility – small business owners, not-for-profit groups, registered charity organizations, cooperative associations, arts organizations, and First Nations groups are all eligible to submit proposals. Those seeking funding from the Canada or BC Council for the Arts are also eligible.
*Individuals (with the exception of small business owners individual grants from the Canada and BC Council for the Arts) are not eligible*
Criteria – all project proposals must contain:
-a description of the organization
-primary contact information
-a description of the project or program
-evidenced need or demand
-key activities to be undertaken
-project timeline and budget (including funding required)
-business plan (if appropriate)

Submission Process – all proposals will be continuously considered on a general intake basis until the submission deadline of August 12th 2011. Proposals will be reviewed for their appropriateness, cost-effectiveness and available funding opportunities. Suitable submissions will be contacted at the primary contact information provided to receive further information regarding next steps.
