First Nations residents in the Northwest will soon have a new resource to help with employment and training support services.

The Prince George Nechako Aboriginal Employment and Training Association has hired three new Workforce Promoters to cover the Northwest.

PGNAETA says the workforce promoters will help aboriginal people that want to participate in industry training or access post secondary diploma or certificate programs.

Their role is to support applicants in getting training, work experience, mobility, and work gear for long-term job opportunities.

Another key role for the promoters will be to encourage industry to hire First Nations people for available positions.

Warner Naziel will be based in Smithers, Tammy Ratcliff will be based in Terrace, and Clarence Martin will be based in Prince Rupert.

All three of the workforce promoters will be based at Northwest Community College Campuses in the three communities starting June 27th.
