MARPAC
Military personnel and equipment representing Maritime Forces Pacific (MARPAC) arrive tomorrow in Prince Rupert, B.C. to participate in the 33rd Annual Seafest from June 9-12.

"Our personnel are delighted to participate in this year's festivities and will showcase the Canadian Navy to the people of Prince Rupert," says Lieutenant (Navy) Robert Byrne, the Commanding Officer of The Naden Band of Maritime Forces Pacific. "We look forward to continuing our long association with the Prince Rupert Seafest."

The "Naden Winds" woodwind quintet of the Naden Band of Maritime Forces Pacific will perform at the First United Church in Prince Rupert on Friday, June 10 at 7 p.m. The full band will lead the Seafest parade on Saturday, June 11 at 11 a.m. and will perform in front of City Hall at 4:20 p.m.

The general public is invited to tour the 300 ton diving tender YDT SOOKE and to meet its crew at Atlin Terminal. Members of the Fleet Diving Unit (Pacific) will display and demonstrate their diving and Explosives Ordinance Disposal (EOD) equipment for festival patrons.

The 33rd Annual Prince Rupert Seafest is a three-day celebration featuring numerous events, activities, food booths, and entertainment in Prince Rupert's downtown area and waterfront. Held every summer in Prince Rupert, Seafest is a major regional attraction and a wonderful display of community spirit.
