Breaker's on the Waterfront
CONTRIBUTION · 10th May 2011
Cynthia Wunderlich
During a trip to Prince Rupert last week we had a chance to stop and have a bite to eat. We were enjoying a waterfront walk and decided to stop in at Breakers Pub since we had not been there before.

We were instantly impressed by the view and the atmosphere. Interesting people, a nice cold beer and, even on an overcast day, the view out of the big bay windows was lovely.

I ordered 1lb of clams listed on the menu seeing as we were right on the ocean. We travel a lot and I rarely anticipate a really good meal. Most of the time I have high hopes and get let down.

Well not this time. The clams blew me away! Steamed in Tequila with some kind of spicy sauce... they were the best I ever had, and growing up on and around the ocean, I have certainly had my share.

I would like to give a huge Kudo's to the Chef's. Patrick Edmonson the Head Chef, Charles Alexander Jr., the Sous Chef and Burton Alexander (Charles' brother) with Clinton Martin; the line cooks. Have you noticed that Chef is just one letter away from Chief?

Not only was the food fabulous, so was the service. The ladies were fun and even though they were busy, they took the time to make sure we had an excellent visit.

So, just a little feature on one of Prince Rupert's many places to eat. If anyone would like to write a litte feature on their favorite eating establishment, just go to our website
www.rupertdaily.ca and click on the "add your own" feature by the red question mark, and we will post the write up.
Friendly and fun staff.
