After an extensive police investigation, Prince Rupert RCMP has arrested one man and one woman on several counts of drug possession and trafficking. The police executed a search warrant on a residence in the 100 block of 8th Avenue West on September 9, 2010.
During the search the officers located cocaine, several prescription medications and other drug trafficking paraphernalia. This was a joint investigation with Prince Rupert General Investigative Section, the Federal Drug Unit and the General Duty Section.
A forty-one-year-old Prince Rupert man and a forty-year-old Port Edward woman were arrested in the barricaded residence and Prince Rupert RCMP has recommended they both be charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of dilaudid for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of methodone.
The arrested individuals were released with conditions and will appear in court on December 13, 2010.
