EDMONTON - Premiers and Cabinet ministers from the governments of Alberta and British Columbia will discuss significant areas of collaboration between the two provinces when they gather at Government House in Edmonton on May 18.
This will be the fifth annual joint Cabinet meeting under the 2003 Alberta-British Columbia Protocol of Cooperation. Alberta and B.C. Cabinet ministers will discuss a wide range of issues and potential agreements.
Alberta and British Columbia have a combined population of about eight million people, or almost one-quarter of the total population of Canada. Three of the six largest cities in Canada are in Alberta and British Columbia. The two provinces produce almost $400 billion worth of goods and services per year, or more than one-quarter of all goods and services in Canada.
