New fares for the Prince Rupert Transit System came into effect Thursday,
July 1, 2010. The City of Prince Rupert approved the introduction of the new fares on May 3, 2010.

Cash fares increased 25 cents: adult fares from $1.25 to $1.50, and senior and student fares from $1.00 to $1.25. Tickets, monthly passes and Prince Rupert Day Passes increased accordingly. Children aged four and under board for free. The last fare increase in Prince Rupert was in 2003.

Funding for the Prince Rupert Transit System service is cost‐shared between the City of Prince Rupert and BC Transit. Decisions about fares, routes and service levels are made by the City of Prince Rupert.
