In follow-up to current investigation by Lake Louise RCMP, a partial composite sketch of the suspect in this attempted sexual assault has been obtained. The attached sketch does not include the eyes or nose, which could not accurately be determined.

Background:

On April 26th, 2007 at approximately 9:30pm, Lake Louise RCMP received a complaint of forcible confinement and attempted sexual assault. A 22-year old female from Banff, hitch-hiking to Lake Louise was picked up by a semi truck driver outside the Town of Banff. It is believed the driver failed to stop at Lake Louise and continued west towards the British Columbia border where he stopped and grabbed the passenger by the arm. It is believed the driver produced a small hunting knife, and instructed the passenger to disrobe. A struggle ensued during which the driver held the victim by the throat, and the victim defended herself by kicking the driver. The victim's actions persuaded the driver to release her, and she was picked up by a passing motorist and taken to Lake Louise Detachment. The truck immediately proceeded west on Highway #1 towards the British Columbia border.

RCMP from Golden Detachment, British Columbia conducted a roadblock of westbound traffic on Highway #1 that was joined by RCMP from Lake Louise. Surrounding detachments and units were alerted, including; Banff, Jasper and Rocky Mountain House. Notwithstanding these efforts, neither the truck nor the driver were located.

The suspect is a male named; "Roy" or "Ray"; 50s; heavier-set; 5'6" to 5'7"; with thick, curly grey and white hair. The tractor cab is described as an older truck, early 90s; white with stripes - possibly red stripes. The trailer of the truck is described as a white refrigeration unit. A license plate on the trailer was described a being blue and white - possibly British Columbia.
