Prince Rupert RCMP
On April 9, 2010, a 42-year-old male deposited an empty envelope into the Bank of Montreal ATM in Prince Rupert, BC. The male indicated there was a cheque worth $5,000 inside the envelope. The bank obtained photos and the name of the account holder. On May 19, 2010, the male was arrested for Fraud over $5,000 by RCMP when he tried to cash a cheque at the same Bank of Montreal branch in Prince Rupert. The male was released on a Promise to Appear and will appear in court on August 16, 2010.
