On May 17, 2010 at approximately 10:40 p.m., a Skeena Taxi driver was dropping off a group of three youths on Hays Vale Drive in Prince Rupert, BC when he was bear sprayed by one of the female passengers.

The three youths ran from the vehicle into the nearby woods. RCMP members along with the RCMP Police Dog Unit patrolled the area in search of the youths. The spent bear spray canister was located. Police have one suspect in the matter.
