Rupert Daily Online

There are 4 menu bar selections above left. These all contain the same items that appear in the black column to the right.

The first selection, on the far left, is the "Frontpage", which is where you are now. This provides a quick glance summary of the news, events and weather of Prince Rupert. We have included on the front page, stories that we think are most relevant to our region. Left click the mouse over any story and you will expand that story. You will then see a list, on the left, of all the story titles. The stories are divided into categories of how they were created and if you click on “List by Date” you see the stories listed by date posted.

You can get the local tide, sun rise and moon phase, all just below, with the daily weather. To the far left you will find a calender of events. You can add an upcoming event if you don't see it listed in the calender. You will also find a poll, on the right, that will change as issues present themselves. Everywhere on this site you can comment and add your own items.

The second menu bar selection, “Main Section”, provides a drop down menu that lists various areas of this site. These include a “Classifieds” section, a "Local Resources" section, maps and polls. Anyone can included their own club or business for free and suggest category additions or poll questions.

The third menu bar selection, “Sections”, displays the 8 separate main sections of the Rupert Daily Online News. Selecting any one topic will take you to that section.

Rupert Daily Online - Finally!. This is an innovative and new online daily newspaper. It is for you to add to and comment on. A way to spread the news that you are privy to, that you can't read, or get printed, anywhere else. This new medium is meant to be your source for immediate and relevant news. Check out the online polls and read what others in the Prince Rupert region think. Let them know what you think by clicking on the "Readers Comments" icon and put in your two cents worth.

And just why is it that people offer a penny for your thoughts, when they really want you to put in your two cents worth?

Is this page mostly blank and without pictures?
If so, the most likely causes are:

1) The entire page was not retrieved properly from the website. This happens occasionally with all websites. Try using your browser's "Refresh" or "Reload" command to get a new copy of this page. If that does not work, try number 2 below.

2) If the page is almost totally blank except for this text, you may have a Norton Internet Security feature that disables pages with "ads". The Tideline has a "Classified Ads" section. If this is the problem you will need to go to your Norton Internet Security options and disable "Ad blocking" for this site.

3) Your browser may have "javascript" disabled. The Editors may have provided you a link (on the left) to a "Site Index". You can use the Site Index to view most of the content without javascript. If the link is not there, or if you want to view this website in all its finery, you will need to go to your browser's options (preferences) and enable "javascript".
